Looking for a way to grow?

“I like being a Host because I get to share in the spiritual growth of others while simultaneously growing myself.”
As a Host, you don’t need to be a Bible scholar. Just be willing to meet regularly with others to study the Bible and do life together. We will give you everything you need to Host a group. Not only will you get a Host Kit filled with great leader tools, you will have an experienced leader to walk alongside you. Groups begin meeting in late January.
Below are answers to some questions you might have as you consider hosting a group.
What is a Host?
A Host is the leader of a Growth Group. Hosts have a Heart for people, Open their homes, Serve snacks and Tell others about their group to invite them in.
Who can lead a Growth Group?
You don’t have to be a Bible-scholar to lead a group! You do need to be a follower of Jesus, call Crossroads your home church and attend a brief orientation. The best leaders are those who desire to grow spiritually through leading others.
What topic or curriculum to discuss?
Many groups choose to study books of the Bible or specific topics for growth including: prayer, parenting, marriage and recovery. You might like to lead a group that is based around an activity, either way we’d be happy to help you choose one.
We have discussion questions to follow up from the sermon each week with your group. We also have an online library at Right Now Media, the “Netflix of Bible Studies”. Get instant access to thousands of great videos for kids, youth, parents, married couples and more. You can view these videos from your phone, tablet, or computer. Crossroads attendees can create a complimentary account through our church subscription.
When and where to meet?
When you meet is completely up to you. Keep in mind that evenings are usually best, Friday and Saturdays tend to be an unpopular time. If you want to lead and are unable to open your home, there are several options to consider. Do you have friends who might open their home for your group? Or you could consider having a group at a coffee shop or other public place. If you are not sure where to meet, we’ll help you out!
