Community Reading Plan | Day 2
Prayer
Allow some silence for your soul to catch up with your body. Thank God for time to spend with Him and ask Him to meet with you.
Bible Reading: Hebrews 10:24-25
Read these verses three times slowly.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Reflection & Questions
By Ken Mullette
The Beatles, one of the most influential bands of the 1960s, faced internal tensions that led them to stop meeting regularly to discuss their musical direction and personal issues. This lack of communication and collaboration within the group eventually contributed to their breakup in 1970, disappointing millions of fans worldwide. Had they continued to meet and address their differences constructively, they might have been able to reconcile creative disagreements and maintain their musical synergy. Regular meetings could have potentially fostered a more unified vision for their future albums and performances, possibly extending their collective creative peak and influencing the music industry for years to come. Instead, their decision to discontinue regular meetings marked the end of an era in music history, highlighting the significance of effective communication and collaboration in sustaining artistic partnerships.
The author of Hebrews encourages fellow believers in Christ to consider the things that should be a priority of all of us. First, we should look for opportunities to encourage fellow Christians in their faith. Second, we should not neglect being gathered together in fellowship. To summarize, we need to be purposeful in seeking out and being part of a community of believers. This passage of scripture necessitates connection, friendships, and a focus on others.
Where do you see yourself in this passage? Are you encouraging someone or being encouraged by someone? Do you have a group of close friends or are you stuck in isolation? What about joining a Growth Group and getting connected with others? Growth Groups are small groups of people that meet weekly to study the Bible and do life together.
