Pray
Thank God for something in your life and ask Him to speak to you through your reading and reflection today.
Bible Reading (read these verses three times slowly)
Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lake, and a large crowd from Galilee followed. When they heard about all he was doing, many people came to him from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, and the regions across the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon. Because of the crowd he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him, to keep the people from crowding him. For he had healed many, so that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch him. Whenever the impure spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.” But he gave them strict orders not to tell others about him.
Reflection & Questions
With people actively plotting to kill him, Jesus now withdraws to the lake away from the city and the synagogue where the religious leaders would be. Even though he leaves town, crowds of people are still coming to him – they are coming with their diseases and their desires for truth. So much so that he seeks the safety of a boat to teach from. But even still, he continues to heal, continues to cast out demons, and continues to demonstrate that he is “The Son of God”. Today, we can come before the same Jesus, who can meet you in your needs today. Bring to him your brokenness, your fears, and your needs.
- What do you need to bring to Jesus today?
Pray
Pause and pray about what you need to bring to Jesus. Listen for His word for you this morning.
Worship Song
As you bring your needs, or other needs, to Jesus today, receive this song as a prayer over you:

Reflection and Questions
After what we read yesterday, Jesus headed outside of town to a lake, where the people who were the most mad at Him, weren’t around. Even though he leaves town, crowds of people are still coming to him – with all of their sickness and disease, and also wanting to hear about the amazing truth that Jesus was telling them! There were so many people that he even got into a boat to teach from it to all of the people on the land. But even still, he continues to heal, continues to cast out evil spirits, and continues to show everyone that he really is “The Son of God”. Did you know that we can still learn from Jesus, just like those people did? And we can also bring our needs and wants and prayers to Jesus, and He still listens and helps us!
- Don’t you wish that you could listen to Jesus teach on the lake side? What’s one thing you would ask Jesus if you were there?
- What do you need to bring to Jesus today? What do you need to ask him for help with?
Prayer
Pray about what you said you needed to ask help with from Jesus.

Devo
Can you imagine if you had the opportunity to have your physical, mental, or emotional issues healed? No wonder people were trying to get as close to Jesus as they could!
