Baptism

Once you’ve decided to follow Christ, baptism is one of the most meaningful next steps. Baptism is a public celebration of your decision to follow Christ.

FAQ’s about Baptisms

Q – What is baptism?
A – Baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision. It’s a way to show others that you’ve decided to follow Jesus. Being lowered into the water is a way to identify with the death of Jesus. Coming back out of the water symbolizes the new life that you have through Jesus.

Q – Do I need to attend a class?
A – For adults, no class is necessary. If you complete the Baptism Request Form, an individual from Crossroads will contact you before your baptism to discuss your decision and answer your questions.

Q – Will the baptism be an immersion?
A – Yes, baptisms at Crossroads are an immersion into water. However, if there is a medical or physical issue, we offer a sprinkling station for those situations.

Q – Will I need to become a member of Crossroads?
A – No, you do not need to become a member of Crossroads before or after the baptism. However, you are encouraged to consider your next spiritual steps after being baptized.

“… having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.”
