Christmas Reading Plan | Week 3 Day 3
Prayer
Take a moment to be silent and still. In order to be fully present in body and mind, take a deep breath in and let it out slowly. Do this three times. Pray that God would open your eyes to wonderful things from His word today.
Bible Reading: Luke 2:15-20
Read these verses three times slowly.
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
Reflection & Questions
As the shepherds hear about this savior that has been born, there is no hesitation in any cell in their body of what to do next. They say, “Let’s go!”. They “hurried off.” They were thrilled to see this Baby that the angels had told them about. And after seeing Him, there was no hesitation in what they would do next. They told everyone about Him. “They spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child.” They couldn’t keep it inside. They had to get the message out there. The Savior has been born!
For those who believe that Jesus has saved them, there is to be no hesitation in what comes next – tell others about Him. That is why as a church community our mission is to “Lead every ONE to discover Jesus and follow Him fully.” We believe we all should have a ONE that we are sharing with and praying for. This Christmas, how will you tell them about Jesus?
- Who is your ONE?
- Ask God for opportunities to share with them about Jesus this Christmas.
