Exit Us – Day 15
BIBLE READING PLAN
WEEK 3 – EXITING OUR INSECURITIES
DAY 5
In our readings this week, we’re focusing on the key idea from Exodus chapters 3 & 4: “Overcoming insecurity starts by being secure in who you are in Jesus.” In our last reading of the week, we look Matthew 28 and our mission from Jesus and his promises to us.
Reading: Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Reflection:
Jesus calls us to tell others about Him and we can be confident in doing that, because He is with us.
- Who are the people around you that need Jesus?
- Pray for them by name that they would come to know Jesus
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
ReflectionIn our readings this week, we saw how Moses did not feel up to the mission God gave to him. But, as it’s been said before, God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called. We also saw this week, that in God’s economy, weakness is strength and that as we spend time with God we can have confidence even in the most difficult situations. Today we read that Jesus has a purpose for His people, including you: go and tell everyone about Him. And as you go, you can have confidence knowing that Jesus “with you until the very end”. God is calling you, in your weaknesses, in your circumstances, and even in your fears, to be confident of the mission He’s given you, because He is with you. Tag you’re it!
- Who are the people around you that need Jesus?
- What’s some steps you can take even today to reach out to them?
- Pray for them by name that they would come to know Jesus and ask God to open doors for you to be a part of reaching them.

Reflection:
Congratulations! You just won the secret recipe to the GREATEST ice cream flavor of all time! It is so delicious, so scrumptious, so outrageously tasty, that words cannot even begin to describe how good it tastes! And lucky for you, there is only one copy of the recipe. No one else can ever get the chance to taste this ice cream unless you say so. Now… be honest… would you share the recipe with other people? Now, you might say ‘of COURSE I would! My best friend would be so excited, so I’ll for sure share with them’. And that’s awesome of you! And maybe you’d even share some with your parents, and maybe even your siblings or cousins. Because hey, you’re a nice person, right? You know how incredible this ice cream is, so why wouldn’t you want to share it? But one day, the meanest kid in school comes up to you, and asks for a taste of the ice cream. This kid has been nothing but mean to you all year long, and is mean to everyone else in the class too! You know what, if you really think about it, they might not even deserve ice cream, because THIS ice cream is only for good people who deserve rewards! So… do you share the ice cream with them?
It’s easy to share something amazing and awesome with people that we like, right? But it gets harder to share it with someone who we might not like as much. But in our bible reading today, remember what Jesus tells us. To go forth and make disciples of ALL nations. That’s right, EVERYONE. And as great as that ice cream from before sounded, let me tell you, getting to know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior is even better. I know, even better than the mythical ice cream. But it’s true! Knowing Jesus is the best reward that anyone could ever ask for, and His love changes our lives forever. That’s why Jesus tells us to make disciples of all nations, because we want as many people as possible to get to know Him too! But that doesn’t just include our friends, it includes everyone! You have the power to tell others about Jesus, so make sure that you do!
- Have you decided to follow Jesus in your life? If not, that’s ok! Talk with your parents about what it even means to make that decision.
- How would you tell someone about Jesus if they asked who He was?
- Have you ever told someone about Jesus before? How did it go?
Focus Verse: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19
