Grab a Fork Reading Plan | Week 1 | Day 2
Prayer
Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Take some time (as much as you need) to be still, to sit at God’s feet and reflect on the fact that He is God and you are not. Ask Him to meet with you today.
Bible Reading: Matthew 11:28-29 using the Pronunciation Method
To meditate on this scripture today, we are going to use the Pronunciation Method. To do this, we will read the scripture multiple times, putting the emphasis on a new word with each successive reading. For example, on your first reading, you might emphasize “Come”. Then pause to reflect: What does “Come” mean? What are its synonyms? What does it mean in the context of the verse? What new insights did it give you to emphasize it? You might write these down. Your second reading you might emphasize “to”. Your third reading, “me”. Keep going through until you have emphasized each word of the verses.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
