Grab a Fork Reading Plan | Week 2 | Day 4

Prayer

Jude 24-25 says, “To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.”

As you come to spend time with Jesus, thank Him that He is able to “keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy.”

Bible Reading: Psalm 67

Today’s prayer is a prayer for the blessing of God’s face to shine on us so that others would come to know Him. We are going to use the “Personalize It” method to meditate on it. This is taking a Scripture and substituting your name in for the pronouns. We will read it first as it is written:

May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face shine on us—
so that your ways may be known on earth,
your salvation among all nations.

May the peoples praise you, God;
may all the peoples praise you.
May the nations be glad and sing for joy,
for you rule the peoples with equity
and guide the nations of the earth.
May the peoples praise you, God;
may all the peoples praise you.

The land yields its harvest;
God, our God, blesses us.
May God bless us still,
so that all the ends of the earth will fear him.

Now read the passage again using the prompt below, and wherever there is a blank, insert your name. We are also personizing this by including your ONE as a part of the prayer. Wherever you see “my ONE” you could substitute your ONE’s name. Read this through at least two times:

May God be gracious to _______ and bless ______
and make his face shine on ______—
so that your ways may be known to my ONE,
your salvation to my ONE.

May my ONE praise you, God;
may my ONE praise you.
May my ONE be glad and sing for joy,
for you rule the peoples with equity
and guide the nations of the earth.
May my ONE praise you, God;
may my ONE praise you.

The land yields its harvest;
God, ______’s God, bless ______.
May God bless ______ still,
so that my ONE will fear him.
