Grab a Fork Reading Plan | Week 2 | Day 5
Prayer
Take a moment to be silent and still. In order to be fully present in body and mind, take a deep breath in and let it out slowly. Do this three times.
In Philippians 3:10 Paul writes, “I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection.” Make that your prayer as you come to spend time with Jesus today. “I want to know you Jesus – I want to know the power of your resurrection.”
Bible Reading: Ephesians 3:14-21
Today we read what the Apostle Paul prayed for one of his churches. It’s a prayer for power, but for power for something we might not expect. We’re going to use the S.O.A.P. method to meditate on it. Firstly, read the verses three times.
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

- S: Write down a phrase or sentence that strikes you from the prayer.
- O: Write down an observation of phrase or sentence. What does it mean? What does it teach?
- A: Write down an application. How does this apply to you?
- P: Finally, write down a prayer in response to the scripture.
