John Reading Plan | Week 17, Day 5

Prayer

As you draw near to spend time with Jesus, quiet your mind and body until you feel completely present. Express your gratitude to Jesus for coming to save you!

Bible Reading: John 21:25

Read these verses three times slowly.

Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

Reflection & Questions

We’ve reached the final verse in the book of John. We’ve seen in the past 17 weeks Jesus do incredible things: turn water to wine, heal a blind man, heal a lame man, raise Lazarus from the dead, to name a few. We’ve read of His incredible teaching and His very bold claims to be God. We’ve read of his willingness to suffer on our behalf, to be killed and his victorious resurrection from the dead. There has been so much! But John tells us in our verse today, “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.” How amazing to think that we’ve only just read the highlights. There is SO much more and perhaps one day in heaven Jesus will tell us all about it. The fact of the matter is that John has recorded what he recorded “so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:31). After these 17 weeks of readings, we certainly can’t remain on the fence about it! Either we give Jesus our whole life or none at all. Let’s be those who live fully for Him!
