Pray for ONE Reading Plan | Week 1 | Day 3

Prayer

Take a moment to be silent and still. In order to be fully present in body and mind, take a deep breath in and let it out slowly. Do this three times. Pray that God would open your eyes to wonderful things from His word today.

Bible Reading: 1 Timothy 2:1-4

Read these verses three times slowly.

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

Reflection & Questions

How do we know what to pray about? The reality is, we can pray bold prayers when we know we are praying in line with the will of God! When we know what we are praying for reflects the very heart of God.

In our verses today, the Apostle Paul tells us that God “wants all people to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth.” So if there’s a prayer that God delights to hear it is that people would come to know Him! So Paul says, “I urge…petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people.” Paul is talking about the people in our neighborhood. The people in our workplace. Yes, even our political leaders. God loves to hear prayers for people, for our ONEs that they would come to know Him.

So pray boldly for your neighbor who doesn’t know God. For your colleague who has stopped believing. God wants all people to be saved and He loves to hear those prayers.

      1. Take a moment to reflect on who or what you pray for. Do your prayers contain prayers for people who don’t know Jesus? Who is someone you could pray for today?

Prayer
