Pray for ONE Reading Plan | Week 4 | Day 5

Prayer

As you come to spend time with Jesus, calm your mind and body until you feel fully present. Thank Jesus that he came to save you and he will never leave you nor forsake you.

Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:17-19

Read these verses three times slowly.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

Reflection & Questions

We’ve reached our last reading on the journey of our ONEs as they come to know Jesus. We’ve been using the acronym HEART, and today we reach “T” which stands for Transformation.

As someone’s heart becomes receptive and their eyes and ears are opened, conviction comes, repentance and release follows and this leads to their transformation. Where there once was apathy, comes passion. Where there once was pride, comes humility. Where there once was lostness and sin, there is direction and new life. They are a new creation.

It is thrilling to see this happen in the lives of our ONEs. This is the beauty of the “ministry of reconciliation” that Paul is talking about in the verses today. God has given us the message of the gospel and privilege to be a part of seeing people transformed! That is our prayer and that is our mission!

Putting the whole week together, as we pray for our ONEs, we can pray through the journey of their faith. We can pray for:

      • H: A Receptive Heart
      • E: Eyes and Ears to be opened
      • A: Attitude of Conviction
      • R: Repentance and Release
      • T: Transformation
      1. What transformations have happened in your life? You used to be ____________, but now you are ________________.
      2. Picture your ONE transformed and praising God. How does this help fuel your prayers for them?

Prayer

Talk to God in response to the reading today.
