Psalms Reading Plan | Day 5
Prayer
As you come to spend time with Jesus, calm your mind and body until you feel fully present. Thank God that there is nothing that can come between Him and you. There is no condemnation, your sin has been cleansed and you stand before Him fully righteous because of His forgiveness.
Bible Reading: Psalm 130
Read these verses three times slowly.
Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;
Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to my cry for mercy.
If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,
Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness,
so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope.
I wait for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for the morning,
more than watchmen wait for the morning.
Israel, put your hope in the Lord,
for with the Lord is unfailing love
and with him is full redemption.
He himself will redeem Israel
from all their sins.
Reflection & Questions
Today, we are going to simply ask three questions to meditate on this text. These are questions you could ask of any section of Scripture to meditate on it.
- What is a word or phrase that stuck out to you as you read this Psalm?
- Why do you think that word or phrase stuck out to you? Is there a situation you are facing that these words speak into?
- What is God’s invitation to you today in response to that word or phrase? (Is it to believe something, say something, do something?)
Prayer
Talk to God in response to the reading today.
