Unashamed Reading Plan | Week 10 | Day 2
Prayer
Allow some silence for your soul to catch up with your body. Thank God for time to spend with Him and ask Him to meet with you.
Bible Reading: Romans 8:33-34
Read these verses three times slowly.
Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
Reflection & Questions
Paul continues today with two more rhetorical questions for us. A rhetorical question is asked to make a point, not to be answered. And Paul’s questions today make great points!
- The first question is “Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?” In other words, what higher power can cancel out God’s declaration? What court is higher than God’s supreme court? None of course! “It is God who justifies.” The matter is settled. If God has declared us righteous, no one can say anything else!
- His second question is similar: “What then is the one who condemns?” No one of course. But we’re not just free from condemnation, we have One who is praying for us, standing in the gap for us and cheering us on. Who? “Christ Jesus who died…is…interceding for us.” That is amazing. You couldn’t have someone better or higher on your side cheering you on!
You, Christian, are declared righteous in the highest of courts and you have Jesus cheering you on. Walk humbly and confidently in these facts!
- What word or phrase sticks out to you from today’s verses? Why?
- Read this statement with your name added: “ _______________ is declared righteous and Jesus is cheering ______________ on every single day.” How does that impact your heart?

Reflection & Questions
Today we are going to talk about a couple more questions that Paul has given us – kinda like a quiz, right?
First question of the day, “who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?” When someone brings a charge against you, that means they are accusing you of some kind of wrong-doing. But in the BIG picture, the one where God determines whether we are guilty or innocent, who else can bring a charge against us? No one! Because God is the ultimate judge and has already declared us righteous! No one can say anything else!
The second question is “Who then is the one who condemns?” Condemn is a pretty harsh word meaning to sentence someone to a particular punishment, especially death. Woah! But you know who can do that to us? No one! Once you have been saved by the grace of Jesus, you are bound for heaven! If you are truly saved, no one can take that away from you!
- Can you imagine going before God, the ultimate judge, and having Him tell you that you are righteous? How does that make you feel?
Pray
Thank Jesus for paying the price for your sins. And thank God for making a way for you to be saved!
