Unstoppable Reading Plan | Week 1 | Day 3



Prayer


Take a moment to be silent and still. In order to be fully present in body and mind, take a deep breath in and let it out slowly. Do this three times. Pray that God would open your eyes to wonderful things from His word today.

Bible Reading: Ephesians 3:20-21


Read these verses three times slowly.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Reflection & Questions


This week we are considering the unstoppable characteristics of our God. We have seen that He is everlasting and that His love is unconditional.

Today, we reflect on perhaps the most obvious way He is unstoppable, and that is in His power. Afterall, if He could be stopped by something, wouldn’t that something be the real god? God, by definition, must be unstoppable.

Paul says God is able “to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.” The limits of our strength can be easily demonstrated through lifting weights – we might max out at 10 pounds or 300. Either way, our strength is measurable. God’s is immeasurable. Even the incredibly powerful act of creating the universe doesn’t demonstrate the full capacity of His power. In fact, He could create a billion universes and it still wouldn’t measure his capacity. There is nothing that can show us the full extent of God’s power. He is literally unstoppable.

The incredible thing that Paul says in Ephesians 3 is that God’s unstoppable power “is at work within us.” That might be hard to believe at times, but that is a truth to put your faith in and to draw upon in your weakness. There is nothing that He can’t do in us or through us! When you’re ready to give up, when you think there is nothing that can be done, remember this: God is unstoppable and He is working in you!

      1. Are there ways that you put limits on what God is going to do in you or through you?
      2. How do you need to draw on God’s power today? Talk to Him about that.
