Africa Team 2019
“Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”John 7:37-38
Crossroads is sending a small team to Nairobi, Kenya this June. The team will partner with local ministries to show Christ’s love in a tangible way by providing clean water and irrigation systems to the Turkana people. The team will be working in rural and urban areas learning the culture, experience local ministries, and assist in drilling a well.
Meet our Team
Rebecca Pack, Gwen Toschi, Erin Williams, Heather Lee, Jason Cary, Mollie Madrid, and Gene Morden (not pictured).
Gene and Melba Morden have served the Turkana people in the Kenyan desert since 1995. Crossroads has supported the Mordens for several years as they work in leadership development for house and village churches and also in clean water initiatives, installing wells and irrigation systems to provide sanitary water and help people gain food security. The clean water and daily food from irrigated farms provide opportunities for Christians to reach out both locally to their neighbors and cross culturally to other tribes. Gene will be leading the team this June.
Support our Team
While the trip will be challenging and rewarding, each team member has been asked to raise $4,100. Consider supporting our team financially and prayerfully. We appreciate you and ask that you would commit to praying for our team before and during our trip. If you have any questions or want to know more about our trip, please contact our team HERE.
Clean water allows farmers to plant and harvest food for their families and micro-businesses, providing stability for the community.
“Wote wanakaribishwa” means “all are welcome” in Swahili.
Join us on Saturday, July 6 at 10AM for an Africa 2019 Trip Report! Our team will be sharing experiences, ministry updates, and pictures when we return. Everyone is welcome to attend! We hope to see you there.
