What is a Host?

A Host is the leader of a Growth Group. Hosts have a Heart for people, Open their homes, Serve snacks and Tell others about their group to invite them in.

Who can Host a Growth Group?

A follower of Jesus, who calls Crossroads home and has been through Rooted. The best leaders are those who desire to grow spiritually through leading others.

Being a Host I get to share in the spiritual growth of others while growing myself.

What topic or curriculum to discuss?

Many groups choose a book of the Bible or a good Christian book or video series to discuss.

You might like to lead a group that is based around an activity, like walking, a sport or even BBQ’ing!

When, where and how long to meet?

When you meet is completely up to you. Keep in mind that evenings are usually best. Also, Friday and Saturdays tend to be an unpopular time.

If you want to lead and are unable to open your home, there are several options to consider. Do you have friends who might open their home for your group? Or you could consider having a group at a coffee shop or other public place. If you are not sure where to meet, we’ll help you out!

During Spring and Fall trimesters groups meet for 12 weeks. During the Summer, groups can meet for between 6-12 weeks (the length is determined by host).
